1.              Do your best to stay up with the reading.  There is a lot of information in each chapter that includes new terminology, concepts and methodology that needs to be studied to be conversant in class. The Power Point Lecture augments the chapter reading in many cases, so not necessarily covers all the chapter reading.

Course Description

Weather Course

When: Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 7:00 to 9:00pm
Where: Greenwich Police Headquarters, 11 Bruce St., Greenwich

The safety and comfort of those who venture out on the water have always been weather dependent. In this course students will become keener observers of the weather, but weather observations only has meaning in the context of the basic principles of meteorology--the science of the atmosphere.  The course focuses on how weather systems form, behave, move, and interact with one another and reflects the availability of all sorts of weather reports and forecasts on the Internet.

This is one of most popular courses that the squadron offers! As well as making your time on the water safer, it helps you to understand how the different approaching weather systems will affect wind direction and strength.

The class will meet for 10 consecutive weekly sessions, including a review and in-class exam.

The cost of the course is $80.00 for members of DSPS and neighboring USPS squadrons and $180 for non-members.
